Product Details:

The Battle of Bunker Hill by Winthrop Chandler, painted around 1776–77, is a dramatic folk-style depiction of one of the earliest and most iconic battles of the American Revolution. Using a sweeping, almost bird’s-eye perspective, Chandler presents the chaos of the clash on Breed’s Hill, with smoke rising from musket fire, British warships in Boston Harbor, and American defenders entrenched behind makeshift fortifications. Though lacking the formal training of academic painters, Chandler conveys a vivid and patriotic vision of the battle, blending documentary intent with decorative flair.
