Product Details:

The Battle of Gettysburg by Edwin Forbes is a panoramic battlefield scene by Edwin Forbes, depicting Pickett’s Charge on July 3, 1863 — the climactic and disastrous Confederate assault on the Union center at Gettysburg. Forbes, who was present at the Battle of Gettysburg, highlights of the Cannon fire and musket smoke creating a hazy battlefield atmosphere. The Union infantry lines are laid out in firing position on the left. A small farmhouse (possibly representing the Codori or Bliss farms) anchors the scene, and Confederate troops and cavalry are seen advancing from the right in what proves to be a drastic mistake by the Confederate command.
