"Siege of Boonesborough" by Howard Pyle is a depiction of one of the pivotal moments in American frontier history, centered on the defense of Boonesborough, Kentucky, during the American Revolutionary War. The siege occurred in 1778 when Daniel Boone and other settlers successfully resisted an attack by Shawnee warriors, led by Chief Blackfish, who were allied with British forces.
