Product Details:

The Roaring Lion by Yousuf Karsh is a powerful 1941 photographic portrait of Winston Churchill, captured shortly after he addressed the Canadian Parliament during World War II. With a stern, defiant expression and hands clenched on the chair before him, Churchill embodies the resilience and determination of Britain at war. Karsh famously created the iconic scowl by abruptly removing Churchill’s cigar moments before taking the shot, resulting in an image that came to symbolize courage and leadership. The portrait became one of the most enduring images of Churchill and a defining photograph of the 20th century.
