Product Details:

"Washington Receiving Notice of his Election as President" is an oil painting created in 1911 by American artist John Ward Dunsmore. This artwork captures the historic moment when General George Washington was informed of his unanimous election as the first President of the United States in April 1789. In the painting, Washington is depicted receiving the news from Charles Thomson, the Secretary of the Continental Congress, at his Mount Vernon estate. The scene reflects Washington's sense of duty and the weight of responsibility he felt upon accepting the presidency.
