Product Details:

This is a reproduction of The Sail Plan for the U.S.S. Constitution 1817 (Old Ironsides). The USS Constitution, launched in 1797, is one of the six original frigates authorized for construction by the Naval Act of 1794. Its design and construction were influenced by Joshua Humphreys, a naval architect, and its unique features, including the spar-deck configuration, played a role in making it a formidable and successful vessel during its active service. The spar deck was a continuous upper deck that extended the full length of the ship, and it was armed with guns. This design allowed for more guns to be mounted on the upper deck, increasing the ship's firepower.
